The newly-launched Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) Framework is a single, simple access, cross sector programme led by industry through a partnership delivery model, facilitated by ADS on a not-for-profit basis, supported by the Regional Aerospace Alliances. The framework provides a comprehensive set of services to support all companies in all their development needs.
The framework will enable suppliers to improve their competitive performance, highlight opportunities to invest in innovation and digitalization, as well as helping them understand their current emissions profile and simple steps to make progress towards their sustainability goals and demonstrate advancement towards net zero.

The enhanced SC21 programme focusses on creating winners and helps businesses of all sizes develop the specific business capabilities required to boost competitive performance in the eyes of their customers.
Step 1: Assessment
A scalable two-step assessment. Rapid deployment of “quick wins”. and capture capability performance feedback from its customers.
Step 2: Improvement
An individually focused scalable Continuous Sustainable Improvement Plan (CSIP) including 4 key areas: Competitive Strategy and Management Systems, Manufacturing Operations, New Product Introduction and Supply Chain.
Step 3: Recognition
Evidence based performance awards which are customer approved and internationally recognised.
The programme will provide services addressing scope emissions challenges through the support of Sustainability Solutions Providers (3rd party experts) as businesses embark on the journey to a more sustainability future.
Through our Carbon Emissions Manual we aim to help our members measure, report and reduce their scope emissions.
The Sustainability Charter
The Sustainability Charter defines the commitment of members of the CIPS Aerospace & Defence Procurement Group (ADPG) to working together to co-create common solutions to Sustainable procurement challenges.
Working together the charter aims to provide a framework to support suppliers on their Sustainable procurement journey through the core themes of Supply Chain Engagement, Greenhouse Gas Emissions Data and Skills & Capability.
ADS is supporting our members to navigate the ever-evolving digital space by creating a collaborative ecosystem across all the sectors, and by helping members to exploit digital technologies.
Using 3D Web-GL technology, ADS have created a virtual aircraft cabin space – the ADS Digital Cabin – where aircraft interiors companies can showcase their products and services to a global audience. OEMs and airline buyers can engage with the products in a new and immersive way.
The ADS Cyber Security Toolkit – Guidance for the Supply Chain is supported by the National Cyber Security Centre.and facilitated in partnership with ADS Special Interest Group, the Digital Information and Systems Integrity Group (DISIG). The toolkit aims to equip the ADS supply chain to cater and respond to the increasing cyber security threats that confront us today.

Innovation funding builds on the UK’s strengths and responds to the challenges faced by industry. Funding helps businesses to grow through the development and commercialisation of new products, processes, and services.
The ATI creates the technology strategy for UK aerospace, which builds on the UK’s strengths and responds to the challenges faced by the UK civil aerospace sector. It provides a roadmap of the innovation necessary to keep the UK competitive in the global aerospace market, and complements the broader strategy for the sector created by the Aerospace Growth Partnership (AGP). Projects funded through the ATI Programme must align with the strategy.
The National Aerospace Technology Exploitation Programme is a £20m programme to develop 80 aerospace technologies in the UK aerospace supply chain. The Aerospace Growth Partnership developed the National Aerospace Technology Exploitation Programme (NATEP) aimed at small and medium sized suppliers to help them develop their own innovative technologies to enhance their capabilities and increase their ability to win new business with higher tier companies anywhere in the world.
The Defence Technology Exploitation programme (DTEP) will be delivered by the Department for Industrial Strategy and Exports (DISE) and the Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA). DTEP is a UK-wide initiative which will help the Ministry of Defence (MOD) deliver productivity and resilience priorities laid out in DSIS. The programme will encourage collaboration between lower and higher tier defence suppliers to deliver novel technologies, processes and materials aligned to MOD capability priority areas.
Through the ADS Finance Forum we support companies to grow and develop their business by providing information on general financial issues, the role finance can play in sustainability, and implications of patents and trademarks.
Through our Business Development Centre and dedicated Market Intelligence Analyst, we also signpost where funding support including funding calls, loans, and business support may be available to help delivered improvements.

Finding talent is a challenge expressed by many of our members.
Our Talent Recruitment Portal is a core part of the new Talent Hub and brings our 1,100 member companies, regional association colleagues and job seekers closer together. Listing cross-sector early careers roles such as apprenticeships and graduate opportunities that are easily searchable and candidates can register their CV for members to actively find them.
We have joined forces with Talent Retention Services (TRS) to create this Portal. Using their recruitment technology and extensive people network we can amplify the exciting roles available and give ADS members a tool to access talented, creative and inquisitive people.

Security Vetting Services
ADS hold the necessary accreditations to be able to offer to sponsor National Security Vetting (NSV) clearances through the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Police for employees of member companies that meet the requirements.
Diversity & Inclusion
ADS members are increasing representation in the aerospace, defence, security, and space sectors through a myriad of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) activities and approaches.
Our recent D&I report explores the areas of the employment outreach, recruitment, onboarding, employee experience. Some of the work ADS Members are undertaking to build more inclusive and diverse workforces is showcased as best-practice case studies highlighting efforts to fulfil industry wide targets and ambitions to build more inclusive and diverse sectors.
Through initiatives such as STEM Learning, the Women in Aviation and Aerospace Charter and Women in Defence Charter and the establishment of LGBTQ+ and EMBRACE internal networks, progress is being made to fulfil industry targets of more inclusive and diverse sectors.
Secondment opportunities allow companies to broaden and develop skills within their workplace and offer career pathways for employees. ADS has been operating a successfully managed secondment programme with MBDA for a number of years and is currently extending the programme.
New Professionals Forum
The New Professionals Forum is an ADS Special Interest Group which provides a supportive networking and professional development forum for early careers professionals in our sectors. Through collaboration and information-sharing, members increase knowledge and further develop their careers.
