I have worked for ADS for a couple of months and have already loved being part of the Membership Team. The team has given me the support and encouragement to fit into my role with ease. The job itself allows me to speak to a wide variety of people on a daily basis, based within different areas throughout the industry. Something which is also reflected within the ADS offices. I have formed great working relationships with colleagues within each department across the business, and this has given me a good understanding of just how diverse this industry is.
For anybody considering applying for a position with ADS, I could not recommend it enough! It was one of the best decisions I have made.
Membership Account Manager (3 months)
I have only recently begun my career with ADS as an Event Sales Account Manager. I have found that the team has a fantastic work ethic, one that I have quickly felt a part of, where everyone pulls in together to make sure the events run as efficiently and successfully as possible. My role is varied and challenging but I know help will always be given should I need it. Even with the high levels of pressure attached to sales and events, the office always has a positive and relaxing atmosphere which I feel is essential to success. I’m excited to see where my new role at ADS will take me in this fast growing sector..
Event Sales Account Manager (1 year)
Working for ADS Group has opened my eyes to what really happens within our fascinating industries. My role has enabled me to learn and meet different kinds of organisations that I thought only existed in movies! I am fortunate that ADS and my team are flexible which allows me to travel to meet with potential and existing clients and has enabled me to expand my personal and professional network. It’s also great to have insight into the innovative products that are showcased at exhibitions and events.
Membership Account Manager (4.5 years)
As Business Development Manager in Northern Ireland, my role is quite wide and varied; we assist members with any related queries and if we can’t answer locally, we engage with our colleagues in London, Scotland or Farnborough. We’re passionate about growing our sectors and the Northern Ireland Growth challenge where we work closely with the Government body, Invest NI, is well on track to exceed its initial target.
I would recommend ADS to anyone – I was a long term industry guy but the ADS role, I believe has not only helped me develop further, but also helped me to see the wider network of security, defence, space.
Although we aren’t geographically close, I enjoy meeting up with colleagues at the various events and special interest groups; amongst the work we always have a bit of craic re football or rugby!
Definitely a great career and personally rewarding when a member says Thanks!
Business Development Manager, Northern Ireland (3 years)
I joined ADS in 2016 after working for nearly 18 years for a large aerospace systems company in France and the UK. I began work supporting the business development of ADS member companies, working with the Department of International Trade to promote UK companies for export opportunities. Now I am the Programme Director for the NATEP Programme, supporting UK SMEs through a programme of funding and mentoring.
ADS offers an excellent working experience, with experienced and talented colleagues from a variety of backgrounds and sectors. The culture is one of trust and employees are empowered to provide insight and opinions across a wide range of subjects.
