Quantic Thistle (formerly Thistle Design) are a UK SME specializing in the design and manufacture of encoders for mission-critical motion and control applications across all defence domains and critical industrial applications.  

For over three decades Thistle has supplied components for platforms such as Scimitar, Warrior, Challenger, and Ajax vehicles, Type45, Type26, QE Class ships, Astute and Dreadnought submarines and Hawk aircraft, and export sales to the EU, US and Japan.

While our focus remains the design, prototyping and manufacture of encoders, we also maintain expertise in ‘building to print’ and reverse engineering to enable customers to maintain continuity of supply.

Quantic Thistle is part of the Quantic Electronics Group owned by Arcline.
