The Business Development Centre (BDC) offers information on markets, programmes and tenders from around the world. Bringing together intelligence gathered from Members, missions, and our network of national and international contacts, the BDC provides an overview of potential opportunities by offering a range of information signposts such as:

ADS works closely with Departments for International Trade (DIT) and Business Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) to maximise the potential for UK companies seeking global business opportunities.
We match Members with the most promising DIT-led trade missions, through our knowledge of your capabilities and aspirations, helping Members access valuable international contacts and export business. From our close working relationships with BEIS and DIT, we also offer our Members visibility of the strategic landscape between the UK, foreign governments and leading global manufacturers. This ranges from companies and governments with offset obligations in the UK, to those looking to invest in or strategically partner with UK aerospace.

Our business development activity also covers domestic matchmaking between SMEs and lower tier manufacturers and higher tier OEMs. We run several Special Interest Groups covering domains from digital manufacturing, aircraft interiors, systems & equipment to MRO, through-life-servicing (TLS) and customs. These offer Members the chance to engage in thought leadership, and of course network and promote their services to industry peers.
Security and Resilience
ADS operates a domestic UK security industry business development programme across central government departments and agencies, the police, emergency services and the critical national infrastructure (CNI). This programme includes:
- Facilitating pre-procurement engagement for major projects
- Organising a regular series of briefing events with stakeholders and potential customers
- Maximising business development opportunities around the exhibitions and events we support
- Providing market analysis around customer priorities and acquisition strategies.
Overseen by our Security Exports Focus Group (SEFG), ADS also operates a dedicated programme of activity to support companies already operating in, or seeking to establish their businesses in international Security markets. We work with partners including the Department for International Trade (DIT) and UK Embassies around the world to provide Members with international market analysis and access, regional and country insight and briefings, and the delivery of focused trade missions and Public Security Exhibitions (PSEs) in priority markets.
ADS supports the Defence sector’s contribution to the UK’s economic health by shaping the market, supporting business development and providing networking opportunities in support of our UK Member companies. Through our ongoing work to promote a UK Industrial Strategy, ADS supports and works with the UK MOD, the Home Office, the FCO, DIT DSO and the Security Services, helping Member companies to grow and export. Our work involves supporting Primes, Mid-Tier and just as importantly SME’s to ensure growth and prosperity for our Members right through the supply chain.
