Defence Attaché Engagement – June 2024

Attend this upcoming Defence Attaché industry engagement event for the chance to meet one-to-one with UK defence staff before they take up their posts at UK Embassies and High Commissions abroad.

Following some adjustments to the UKDSE briefing package for outgoing UK defence staff, ADS and Make UK Defence have agreed an enhanced opportunity within this for industry engagement and participation.  

Benefits of Attending:

Industry attendees will have the opportunity to have one-to-one scheduled meetings with the outgoing defence staff in those countries of potential interest, and it is hoped that, where possible, the relevant country desk officers and military support staff from UKDSE will also be in attendance. Regional International Trade Advisors have also been invited to attend the event. 

Draft Agenda:

• 11:00 - Industry arrival window and set-up
• 12:00 - Introduction to the Export Support Team (EST), Industry Brief - optional for those unfamiliar with the EST
• 12:30 - Working lunch with ADS, Make UK and EST
• 13:15 - Brief on speed dating
• 13:30 - DA speed dating / briefs on export faculty and other relevant topics / free time
• 15:00 - Break  
• 15:15 - DA speed dating / briefs on export faculty and other relevant topics / free time
• 17:00 - Break down
• 17:15 - Optional Industry tour of UK Capabilities Showcase
• 18:00 - Optional Mess history and silver tour
• 18:30 - Business curry buffet - a chance to have further business discussions in an informal setting in the Royal Artillery Officers’ Mess
• 23:00 - Close and depart

This will all be taken into consideration when we assess your application with our colleagues at the Export Support Team in Salisbury. 

You will be notified of our decision in early May. 

If your application is successful, the estimated cost will be as follows:

• Member: £200 (+ VAT)
• Affiliate: £300 (+ VAT)
• Non-member: £400 (+ VAT)
