WHAT IS THE SUSTAINABLE AVIATION AEROSPACE MEMBERS COMMITTEE?

In 2005, all parts of the Aviation sector came together to produce a long term strategy setting out the collective approach of UK aviation to tackle the challenge of ensuring a sustainable future for our industry.

The group arising from this initiative is called Sustainable Aviation, and brings together the main players from UK airlines, airports, manufacturers and air navigation service providers.

The Sustainable Aviation Aerospace Members Committee was set up to provide a forum for the ADS members of the Sustainable Aviation Council, to share views and strategy in order to present a coordinated and where possible, united position at the SA Council and with Sustainable Aviation working groups in general.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE COMMITTEE?

The Sustainable Aviation Aerospace Members Committee's major objective is to promote the UK Aerospace industry as a market leader in sustainability best practice and associated technologies. It provides the manufacturing focus for inputs to the UK's Sustainable Aviation initiative as well as a forum for discussing the environmental impacts of the aviation sector.

This particular group is categorised as a ‘Board or Committee’ ADS Boards and Committees generally operate at the more strategic level  and have more specific criteria for joining and limited vacancies for Members to apply for. If you are interested and request to join a Board or Committee it will require further follow up from the group owner to confirm vacancies and suitability.

HOW DO I JOIN?

The Sustainable Aviation Aerospace Members Committee is currently open only to the Aerospace members of the SA Council (at present Airbus and Rolls-Royce), however, it will be expanded in the future to also include ADS members who are members, associate members or signatories to Sustainable Aviation, as well. If you meet one of these criterion or wish to sign up to Sustainable Aviation and would like to be added to the circulation list for this group, please contact Kevin.Morris@adsgroup.org.uk or tel.: 020 7091 4530, who will validate your application and add you to the Membership.

If you are not currently a member of Sustainable Aviation, and are interested in joining as a full Member, Associate Member or Signatory, again, please contact Kevin Morris using the link or telephone number above for more information - please note that there is a subscription, currently £2,500 per year for the Member and Associate Member categories.
