Following a successful PSE in December 2019, ADS is hosting a PSE in collaboration with the Department for International Trade (DIT) in the British Embassy in Warsaw to showcase the UK's innovative security capabilities.
In October 2021, the Polish Ministry of Interior and Administration announced the completion of works on the new Programme of Modernisation of Uniformed Services for 2022-2025. The relevant Act should be approved by the Polish parliament by the end of 2021. The Programme of Modernisation of the Polish Prison Service (supervised by the Ministry of Justice) is to be included in the Act as well. The aim of the both programmes is to continue the modernisation of law enforcement services in Poland.
Under the proposed legislation, approximately 10bn PLN (ca £1.86bn) will be dedicated to the modernisation of the police, border guard, fire service and State Protection Service of which around 4.3bn PLN (ca £800m) will be spent on investment and equipment. In addition, approximately 1.9bn PLN (ca £352m) will be dedicated to the Polish Prison Service.
The priorities of the proposed programme include, but are not limited to:
- 250 new police stations and modernisation of infrastructure
- New police school and a new building dedicated to the Police Central Forensic Laboratory
- Modernisation of police equipment
- Modernisation of existing radar surveillance system for Polish marine areas
- Modernisation/development of perimeter protection system alongside the Eastern border
- two hovercrafts, two reconnaissance aircrafts and four UAVs for border guard
- Additional patrol and special vehicles
- Uniforms and PPE
- Thermal imaging and night vision equipment
- 53 new fire stations and modernisation of 67 fire stations
- Fire engines
- State Protection Service - special vehicles equipped with systems for biological threat detection, pyrotechnic reconnaissance, surveillance and communications
- Prison service – modernisation of infrastructure and monitoring systems/CCTV, special vehicles
- ICT.
