16 June: UK and US confirm parts of the tariff agreement

President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to remove the tariffs on key aerospace parts being shipped to the US, which will bring into force parts of a tariff deal agreed between the two countries last month.

Speaking at the G7 summit in Canada, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer called the move a “very important day” for both countries.

It comes after weeks of talks to implement parts of the pact, which the UK government hopes will shield British businesses from the impact of Trump’s tariffs. Read more via BBC News

8 May: UK and US announce trade deal

On 8 May 2025, the UK Government confirmed that the UK is the first nation to secure a trade deal with the new US administration.

While there is clearly more detail to come, this is a welcome step for UK advanced manufacturing.

UK-India trade deal: conclusion summary

This conclusion summary outlines the benefits of the concluded deal between the UK and India, and explains the provisions and chapters in the UK-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and Double Contributions Convention (DCC).

As soon as the deal comes into force, 64% of tariff lines will be eligible for tariff-free imports into India, covering £1.9 billion of current UK exports to India (2022). This will include UK exports of advanced manufacturing such as aircraft parts and scientific and technical measuring instruments.
