Sustainability Network

Special interest group

WHAT IS THE SUSTAINABILITY NETWORK?

The ADS Sustainability Network is a member's peer to peer forum which aims to bring together representatives from ADS member organisations (large and small) who want to learn, collaborate and drive the sustainability (ESG) agenda across all sectors.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE GROUP?

To bring together sustainability/ESG professionals and those with sustainably responsibilities from ADS member organisations who want to learn from each other, collaborate and drive the sustainability (ESG) agenda across the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors.

It provides a forum to;

  • Share and promote best practice;
  • Coordinate, communicate and promote authoritative information;
  • Consider  sustainably across the whole value chain – supply chain, operations and products and services;
  • To engage with stakeholders on issues and regulation associated with ESG and sustainably affecting the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors;
  • Provide a coordinated ADS response to UK and European legislation, and consultations, when they are likely to impact on one or more of the industry sectors of ADS members;
  • Support ADS liaison with Government departments, regulators and representatives of other industry sectors including ASD, as required, to promote the benefits of sustainability on behalf of the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors;
  • Advise and report to the four ADS Sector Boards on pertinent environmental issues;

The WG will collaborate and coordinate with other ADS and external groups so we are complimentary (e.g. BEN, SAB, DSF, ADSG, SPWG, ADEDI, WID)

SME and supply chain involvement are critical to the workings of the group, and a dedicated email account - sustainability@adsgroup.org.uk has been set up for ADS SME members to submit questions about environmental sustainability and the way it impacts their businesses.
