New Professionals Forum (NPF) Steering Group

Special interest group

The New Professionals Forum (NPF) Steering Group plays a key role in supporting and overseeing the activities of the New Professionals Forum, a networking and professional development forum for industry professionals new to the aerospace, defence, security & space sectors. The NPF hosts senior keynote speakers, panel sessions with industry experts, professional development workshops, site tours and market stalls, often hosted by ADS member companies.

The Steering Group is a small but mighty team, meeting regularly to maintain momentum and build on success.

ROLE OF THE STEERING GROUP

The Steering Group supports the Executive Committee, helping guide their efforts in ensuring the NPF remains relevant and impactful for its members.

At the NPF AGM on 26 August 2026, members agreed to simplify the Forum's governance arrangements for 2026/27. Our priority this year is to expand the Steering Group, creating more opportunities for members to contribute, share ideas, and support the delivery of activities across the network.

We welcome new members to the NPF Steering Group...

  • Be a voice for your organisation, with each ADS member company able to nominate up to two representatives to the Steering Group.
  • Get involved in activities that interest you, from events and site visits to workshops and Annual Conference planning.
  • Collaborate with peers from across the sectors, sharing ideas, building connections, and helping shape future NPF initiatives.
  • Champion early-career talent, helping create opportunities for personal and professional development across our industries.

FLEXIBLE OPPORTUNITIES TO GET INVOLVED

Alongside attending events, Steering Group members can contribute in ways that fit around their role and workload. This might include hosting a site visit, leading a workshop, speaking at an event, supporting a project, or joining the planning team for the NPF Annual Conference.

It's a great way to build your professional profile and gain additional skills.
