The New Professionals Forum (NPF) is a networking and professional development forum for industry professionals new to the aerospace, defence, security & space sectors. The NPF is an inclusive and supportive group and is always keen to welcome our new members.

Join us for an insight-packed webinar where a subject matter expert shares practical knowledge and real-world perspectives in a relaxed, discussion-friendly environment. In this session we hear about Serco’s Net Zero Action Plan, a roadmap that outlines the actions an organisation will take to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions towards verified SBTi net zero targets.
Speaker: Sally Welbourn - Interim Head of Energy, Environment and Sustainability, Serco
An Environmental Scientist with almost 20 years of experience delivering environmental sustainability, net zero and biodiversity programmes across Australia and the UK. For the past four years at Serco, Sally has led delivery of the ESG Planet Pillar, shaping the organisation’s net?zero strategy, advancing their biodiversity approach, and driving wider sustainability performance and growth.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE FORUM?
The New Professionals Forum provides ADS members with the opportunity to help new starters navigate the broad landscape of support networks and initiatives available to them outside of their companies. The forum hosts senior keynote speakers, panel sessions with industry experts, professional development workshops, site tours and market stalls, at special events hosted by ADS member companies. The forum also helps guide members to various external initiatives, institutes and groups through an open hub on the ADS website.
The NPF is a thriving group with a core committee that meets regularly to maintain momentum and build on success. As well as a chairperson, there is a wider comms team with specific roles created to help keep the group active:

From the NPF AGM held on 20 August 2025, we are pleased to announce our new Executive Committee:

- Kathryn Charman (GKN Aerospace) – Onboarding Officer
In carrying out these roles, the team will keep you informed of opportunities and group activities throughout the year, but they will only be contacting you in relation to NPF activity.
HOW DO I JOIN?
Membership of the group is open to all ADS member companies. You need to register a profile in the members area first. Then, click on the Join button in the members area for the New Professionals Group or alternatively please contact Nicola Green by emailing nicola.green@adsgroup.org.uk
