WHAT IS THE INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS COmmittee?
The International Relations Committee (IRC) is a special Interest group for ADS Members and stakeholders across our four sectors. The IRC provides the primary forum to discuss ADS’ international relations strategy, international business development plan of activities and provides central coordination for discussions on European and International policy and regulatory matters affecting our members.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE GROUP?
The IRC aims to support ADS’s global and market specific objectives of policy advocacy, awareness, business development and public engagement activities with external stakeholders.
The International Relations Committee will:
- Act as a focal point to represent the interests of the Membership to UK Government and wider political stakeholders on international issues. Develop and maintain relationships in particular with DBT, HO, UKDSE, FCDO, MoD, UK Parliament to support the implementation of ADS International Strategy; including on strategic international defence and security partnerships; sharing of market information; regulatory issues.
- Represent the interests of ADS Membership to Overseas Governments and other identified international stakeholders to foster international business development opportunities (e.g., International Exhibitions, Trade missions, Meet the buyers’ events) and develop international market value for all members.
- Support ADS strategic objectives of policy advocacy, awareness, and public engagement activities with external stakeholders in Europe (e.g., ASD, European Parliament, EU Commission, EU delegation in London, Bilateral engagements with national Trade Association in Europe etc.) and on the international stage (e.g., NATO, UN ICAO, European Space Agency, National Trade Associations, UK Embassies, London Embassies, Think Tanks).
