WHAT IS THE SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT WORKING GROUP (SPWG)?

The Sustainable Procurement Working Group is a joint MOD/Industry committee for the department and its suppliers to consider jointly how best to embed Sustainable Procurement into both purchaser and supplier business practices. The group is co-chaired by industry and MOD representatives.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE GROUP?

To operate as an Executive Committee to facilitate collaborative working between MOD and defence industry prime, mid-tier and small-medium enterprise suppliers, to jointly consider how to embed sustainability into purchaser and supplier procurement processes. The SPWG is accountable to the Defence Suppliers Forum (DSF).

HOW DO I JOIN?

This particular group is categorised as a ‘Board or Committee’ ADS Boards and Committees generally operate at the more strategic level and have more specific membership criteria. Members can register their interest in the committee, and if a vacancy arises the group facilitator will contact you directly to discuss the process of joining.
