Volklec is a UK-based battery cell manufacturer developing and producing lithium-ion NMC cells for high-performance applications across Defence, Aerospace, Automotive and Industrial markets. Headquartered in Coventry, Volklec is building a sovereign UK battery cell capability at a time when secure, domestic supply of energy storage is increasingly critical to national resilience and operational independence.

Volklec is pursuing a two-product strategy: a 21700 tabbed NMC energy cell manufactured at UKBIC for early customer programmes, and a tabless power cell designed for high-rate discharge applications. Both products are engineered to meet the demanding performance, safety and lifecycle requirements of defence and aerospace platforms, including unmanned systems, subsea applications, hybridisation, and electrified platforms. Volklec is pragmatically scaling toward UK gigafactory production to deliver volume supply to customers as their programmes mature.

As cell manufacturing experts, Volklec works closely with customers to translate their performance requirements into deliverable products, supporting cell selection, integration, qualification and long-term supply.

Backed by private investors and supported by the Advanced Propulsion Centre and Innovate UK, Volklec is actively seeking partnerships with primes, integrators and platform operators developing next-generation electrified systems.
