Shield Space is a UK-based defence and space technology company developing end-to-end Space Control capability for the United Kingdom and its allies. Founded in 2025, the company builds autonomous systems, effectors, and command-and-control systems needed to deliver offensive and defensive space control of space-based critical national infrastructure.

At the heart of our work is the development of Space-Based Carrier Strike systems to enable sustained space force projection and adversary overmatch. These systems will comprise mothership-type vehicles deploying fleets of space-based co-orbital interceptors to deliver on-orbit effects.

Our next mission is BROADSWORD, launching in Q2 2027. This mission will conduct an uncooperative RPO engagement between two nanosatellites to test and iterate on the company’s space autonomy and effector technologies as building blocks to deliver Space-Based Carrier Strike.
