Shield Space is a UK-based space security company developing autonomous guidance and rendezvous technologies for small satellites. Founded in 2025, the company focuses on enabling satellites to operate independently in contested or communications-limited orbital environments.

Shield Space’s core product is an onboard autonomy system to allow spacecraft to detect, track and interact with other objects in orbit without continuous ground control. This capability supports both defence space control missions and commercial in-orbit servicing, inspection and manufacturing activities.

Shield Space is headquartered in the UK and is building towards an in-orbit demonstration of its autonomy system, with the longer-term objective of supporting national and allied space security capabilities alongside civilian orbital operations.
