ince 2014, we have worked with boards and executive teams across defence, healthcare, housing, financial services and other regulated environments where policy, assurance and accountability genuinely matter. Our work has focused on helping management teams address complex operational problems where governance and guidance must function reliably under real-world pressure, including how organisations design governance, apply guidance in practice, and demonstrate assurance under scrutiny.

Across sectors, we observed the same recurring problems: critical guidance spread across disconnected documents and systems, unclear ownership, inconsistent application, and assurance processes that focus on document existence rather than usability or authority.

Sapience emerged directly from this experience. It is a secure, governed knowledge platform designed to make authoritative guidance usable at the point of decision, while strengthening ownership, auditability and regulatory assurance. The platform reflects patterns identified through real regulatory findings, operational failures and board-level decision-making – not abstract “knowledge management” theory. 

Sapience is backed by more than a decade of board-level governance work in regulated environments, including direct exposure to regulatory findings, assurance failures and real operational risk. 

Proven EA remains deliberately small and senior-led. We work closely with clients where context matters, applying hard-won experience of regulated environments to ensure governance, guidance and assurance arrangements stand up in practice – not just on paper.
