The Business Development Centre (BDC) is a key resource for ADS members, offering insight on programmes and tender notices and helping you navigate global markets. Are you making the most of it?

ADS Market Intelligence Analyst, Karen Cartwright-Hassard (Kitty), is at the heart of the BDC, ensuring visibility on new opportunities for members. Kitty says,

Our goal is to make global opportunities accessible for every member. The BDC offers a curated hub of insights and resouces tailored to our sectors, helping to make it easier for teams to find relevant opportunities, understand the market landscape and create compelling tenders.

It’s such a useful resource, but not every member knows about it, so it’s great to be able to help raise awareness and outline its potential within this blog.

Supporting business growth

The Business Development Center (BDC) is updated daily with sales leads and tenders, research calls and programmes, expressions of interest, prior information notices, contracts, requests for information, sources sort, etc., from across the world and sectors.

The Programmes section of the site has been designed to keep members informed about ongoing national and international projects, programmes, calls, government departments, etc. Such as Horizon Europe, Type 83 Destroyers Programme, AUKUS Pillar 2, EUREKA, Digital Catapult to name a few.

Within in this section is collated information concerning programme overview, website, tender portal(s), main/sub-contractors, milestones, news, relevant documents, etc. There are also links through to any sales leads linked to the Programme.

We have a dedicated bulletin that goes out every Wednesday. Members can tailor this to suit their needs via the Emails settings and Capabilities of Interest section within the Members Area.

Identify funding opportunities and financial support for growth and innovation

Assisting with global market entry, export strategies, and navigating international regulations

Using national and international resources, and support from our own dedicate EGADD specialist within ADS, Kitty curates a Country guide area within the BDC. This area brings together information on government departments, embassies, economic and budgetary reports, exporting guides, and much more.

Kitty continues,

Our country guides are a treasure trove for businesses exploring new markets. With information on exporting guides and government landscapes, we provide the insights and contacts needed to spot opportunities and confidently assess a country’s potential.

And finally…

An additional little-known member service is that, beyond the insight available within the BDC, we can provide a tailored report service covering any country or sector, free of charge.

Ultimately, we want as many members as possible to use our market intellegence services. We are currently looking to run a webinar a few times a year to guide members through the BDC. It will be an opportunity to ask questions and find out more about the services on offer. Watch this space!
