Deputy Chief Constables sought to join Police Scotland

The Scottish Police Authority (SPA) is recruiting for two new Deputy Chief Constables to join Police Scotland - the second largest police service in the UK.

The vacancy follows confirmation that Deputy Chief Constable Fiona Taylor will retire in February 2024, after five years as Deputy Chief Constable. Deputy Chief Constable Malcolm Graham will retire in April 2024, after almost  five years as Deputy Chief Constable.  

The Authority is now advertising for two exceptional police leaders to join Police Scotland's Executive team and support the Chief Constable to shape the next important phase of policing in Scotland.

Martyn Evans, Chair of the Scottish Police Authority, who will lead a panel to appoint the Deputy Chief Constable said: “These are significant leadership roles in the second largest police force i​n the UK.

“As we look towards the next important part of our journey, we are looking for Deputy Chief Constables with commitment, energy, and ideas to support the Chief Constable.”

The deadline for applications is noon on Wednesday 31st January 2024. The Authority expects to announce successful candidates in Spring 2024.
