This summer, ADS is hosting our inaugural Charity Cycle, bringing together members from across the UK for an unforgettable six-day ride. Over the course of this event, riders will swap their laptops for lycra, embarking on a 478-mile journey from Scotland to Farnborough.
For our Charity Cycle, we’ve teamed up with five incredible charities and STEM academies to support underrepresented groups across the UK. These beneficiaries are vital in supporting our past, present, and future workforce – from empowering the next generation of industry leaders to supporting members of the Armed Forces community. Through our partnership, we aim to shine a spotlight on the invaluable work they do throughout our industry.
We reached out to our friends at Motivez to discuss more about their key priorities, challenges and support for the Charity Cycle…
Who is Motivez?
Motivez is an award-winning, youth-led organisation founded in 2015. Our mission is to empower underserved young people aged 14–25 by opening doors to entry-level STEM careers and nurturing the next generation of leaders and innovators tackling global challenges.
Over the past decade, we’ve supported over 13,000 young people through grassroots initiatives, employability pathways, and advocacy programmes across the UK. Delivered by relatable young professionals from partners like Google, TfL, McLaren, and Rolls-Royce, our work has earned high praise from the Royal Family, Sir Lewis Hamilton MBE, Idris Elba OBE, and Beyoncé.
How does your work contribute to making the UK a better place?
At Motivez, we focus on creating fair and inclusive opportunities for young people who face systemic barriers. Through our grassroots programmes like Sustainable London, alongside employability and advocacy initiatives, we provide mentoring, hands-on learning, and career exposure in STEM. These experiences empower youth to believe in their potential and confidently navigate their futures.
By amplifying voices that are often unheard, we’re not just enabling individual success – we’re fostering a more socially conscious and diverse generation ready to shape a better UK.
What does being a beneficiary of the ADS Charity Cycle 2025 mean to your organisation?
Being a beneficiary of the ADS Charity Cycle 2025 means so much to our team and the young people we support.
It’s more than just fundraising, it’s a powerful show of belief in our mission to empower underrepresented youth across the UK. We are so grateful for the support from ADS Group and every person taking part, as it helps us open doors into STEM industries where many young people have historically been excluded or underrepresented. Helping us create a more equitable future, one young person at a time.
What would you say to someone considering donating?
Supporting Motivez is more than a donation – it’s an investment in the future changemakers of STEM. Your generosity helps us reach underrepresented young people who need that first break to unlock life-changing opportunities in leadership, innovation, and real-world experience.
With your help, we can extend our reach, accelerate growth, and empower communities often overlooked. Together, we’re creating a space where every young person feels seen, heard, and empowered to shape the future, because real change starts with them.
Can you share a success story that highlights the impact of your work?
One of our proudest recent successes is the launch of our first-ever Sustainable London Multi-Borough Grand Finale – a huge milestone in our 10-year journey. What started with just one borough, has now expanded to six boroughs, engaging over 2,250 Year 10 students from marginalised backgrounds across 15+ schools.
These young people developed innovative, sustainable solutions to real-world climate challenges in areas like fashion, health, and transport, pitching them to industry experts in a high-impact finale event at Natwest HQ.
This growth doesn’t just reflect scale – it reflects the rising power of youth-led innovation and how Motivez is helping young people turn their ideas into action for a better planet and a better future.

What challenges do the communities you serve face, and how does your charity help?
The young people we serve often face systemic barriers; from limited access to career pathways and mentorship, to a lack of representation in industries like STEM. Many struggle to find guidance, confidence, or role models who reflect their lived experiences.
At Motivez, we address these challenges by delivering inclusive, youth-led programmes that provide real-world exposure, meaningful connections, and a platform for their voices. By equipping them with the tools, networks, and belief in their potential, we help level the playing field – ensuring every young person has a fair chance to thrive, regardless of their background.
What are your charity’s goals for the next year?
Our goal is to scale our flagship programmes such as Sustainable London – our grassroots initiative and Application season – our employability and advocacy programme – so we can reach more young people across the country who aren’t currently getting the support they need to access STEM careers.
This includes growing our team, digitising our programmes to provide continuous support from early engagement through to securing entry-level roles, and deepening relationships with our “universe of change” partners, schools, and the wider community.
We’ve found a scalable model that works, and now we’re focused on bringing it to life and expanding our Sustainable London and Application season programmes across even more boroughs and regions across the country.
What would you say to the cyclists taking on this challenge to support your charity?
Never underestimate the power of a bike – or the impact of this ride.
The journey you’re on mirrors the one we take every day at Motivez: pushing forward with purpose, navigating challenges, and leaning on each other to go further.
Know that every mile you ride is in support of hundreds of underrepresented young people working toward a brighter future. You’re not just cycling, you’re helping change lives. We’re incredibly grateful to have you riding alongside us.
