Farnborough (11 March 2025) – The latest data from ADS highlights that turnover in the security and resilience sector reached £27.6 billion in 2025, representing growth of 168% from a decade earlier. The trade association for the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors also found that security and resilience exports account for half of the sector’s revenue, having grown 240% since 2015 to reach £13.6 billion in 2025.

The Security and Resilience Outlook highlights the sector’s three core priorities of protecting critical national infrastructure; strengthening homeland security and policing; and bolstering the UK’s economic security.

The publication further reveals that in total, nearly 150,000 people are employed in the security and resilience sector, representing a 70% increase on 2015. The average salary for someone employed in the security sector has increased 42% in the last ten years to reach £49,000 – 25% higher than the average UK earner.
