Speakers

The first speaker is Head of Physical Security at the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA, formerly CPNI).  He will give a background to the recent change from CPNI to NPSA and the provenance of the Security Governance stream of advice.

The second speaker, Stuart Osborne QPM, has an extensive career in the public and private sector. He is a former Chief Police Officer retiring from The Metropolitan Police as a Deputy Assistant Commissioner where he held several national and international policing portfolios. More recently he has worked as a senior executive in a FTSE top 50 defence organisation with global responsibility for risk and security; and a leading FTSE facilities management and consulting organisation as group head of risk and Managing Director for Risk and Resilience Consulting.

He now runs his own consultancy practice advising Government, private sector business and 3rd sector organisations on risk, governance and corporate resilience and has been working with the National Protective Security Authority on their latest security governance work.

Many organisations believe that they have implemented security procedures that will mitigate their risks. However, post event analysis indicates that many only realise how vulnerable they really were after an attack has been successful. This briefing will introduce an new interactive offering from the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) to help organisations understand how hostile actors are exploiting organisations processes and governance to cause harm and loss.
