ADS Secondment Programme – developing talent in our sectors

At a time when both retention and attraction of talent is critical due to the current job market climate, secondment opportunities allow companies to broaden and develop skills within their workplace and offer career pathways for employees.

ADS has been operating a successfully managed secondment programme with MBDA for a number of years. We are uniquely placed at the heart of the industry to offer a learning experience that helps individuals further their understanding of the industry, grow professional networks and improve personal development. We also support ADS members, deepening their internal knowledge and engagement with the wider sector.

From meeting MPs and senior leaders of major companies, including my own, the networking that can be done whilst here is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced and is a perfect way to set up my future career now.

A secondment also means that while I do have a line manager and a team to report into, I have freer rein to explore industries and topics outside of my company’s area that personally interest me. In my case, working with the aerospace team to do some prep for a COP26 event work has led to my own project of an interview series around sustainability. Previous secondees have been able to do similar in areas such as space technologies or public affairs.”
