Yesterday afternoon saw Andy Phillips, ADS’ Aerospace Policy Advisor, host the first of two roundtables on our response to the Jet Zero consultation.

The roundtable was an opportunity for ADS to set out the clear and credible plan that the aerospace industry has to reach net zero, offering members a chance to feed-in their views on the specific policy areas that are consulted on as part of Jet Zero. There is a broad consensus in industry about reaching net zero by 2050, and an effective policy framework from Government will be a critical part of a successful roadmap to Jet Zero, working alongside and with the UK aerospace sector.

Issues discussed at the roundtable included zero emission flight, sustainable aviation fuels, support for the Aerospace Technology Institute and the importance of purposeful international engagement.

For members interested, the second roundtable will take place on Monday 16 August 14:00-16:00, offering members a second opportunity to discuss ADS’ response. If you would like to attend or set up an individual meeting to discuss the Jet Zero consultation, or receive further information please email Andy Phillips at andy.phillips@adsgroup.org.uk
