Prime Minister Theresa May announced today that if her deal fails to win the approval of the House of Commons on Tuesday 12 March, MPs will be asked to vote on whether to accept a No Deal outcome on Wednesday 13 March.

If this is rejected, a further vote will be held of Thursday 14 March on whether to seek an extension to the Article 50 deadline that currently means the UK will leave the European Union on 29 March.

The Prime Minister said any extension to Article 50 would likely be short

ADS Chief Executive Paul Everitt said:

"The threat of a no deal brexit is already costing UK companies too much time, money and investment. The Government must act with urgency to rule out no deal.

"Any delay to the article 50 process must allow sufficient time for the UK Government and Parliament to resolve all outstanding issues in both the Withdrawal Agreement and our future relationship with the European Union."
