The Department for International Trade announced this week that the Government is suspending retaliatory tariffs against the US as part of the Airbus-Boeing dispute.

However, tariffs to defend the UK steel industry will continue from January 1st.

Responding to the announcement, ADS Chief Executive Paul Everitt said:

“We are disappointed the UK has chosen to take unilateral action without securing some reciprocal action to resolve this dispute. A negotiated settlement is the best way to achieve a lasting resolution and Governments in the UK, Europe and the US must work together to reach this goal.”
