Starling's next gen VIP Track and Swivel Seat launched at AIX
Leatherhead based Starling Aerospace launched its next generation VIP Track and Swivel Seat at Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg last week, with its upgraded seat providing lighter, more agile and even smoother gliding and locking actions.
The new seat innovation tracks sideways, forward and backwards and now has an electric head rest, recline and leg rest. This ingenious aircraft product which is certified for 9G and 16G, can turn 359° and has been designed to lie flat at 179°. The VIP Track and Swivel Seat can accommodate passengers over 6ft in height.
When it comes to styling and upholstery, customers are now being offered even more options as part of the seat’s upgrade. Starling Aerospace (carries EASA approvals for Design: UK21J.538, Manufacturing: UK21G.2581, and Repair & Overhaul: UK145.01249) has complete in-house manufacturing capabilities allowing for greater design flexibility and fast turnaround.
Starling Aerospace highlighted these capabilities at AIX along with its new technology including: a super large Aqua Transfer tank which allows for large scale aircraft interior components to be covered in one dip, a 4 axis machining centre for aluminium seating components, a 5 axis CNC router for 3D composite structures and a Gerber automated CNC leather and fabric cutter.
