Horizon Technologies CEO John Beckner said the order is valued at approximately £400,000 and delivery will take place in 2021 pending export approval: “IDEX has been a huge success for Horizon Technologies. It was good to resume face-to-face meetings with our customers and partners in the region.”

Horizon Technologies’ AMBER Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) Intelligence system was featured on the UK Government’s stand at the show and attracted great interest from many customers from the UAE and from the whole region.

AMBER is a second generation CubeSat-based SIGINT system and will be operational later in 2021. It is a public/private partnership with the UK Government and the UK National Maritime Information Centre (NMIC) is slated to be the first consumer for AMBER intelligence data.

Beckner expressed his thanks for the extraordinary support from everyone from the UK Embassy in Abu Dhabi: “Without their support, we could not possibly have been as successful at IDEX as we were.”

In addition, Beckner singled out the organisers of IDEX 2021 (ADNEC, the UAE Ministry of Defence and the UAE Armed Forces) for “organising and carrying off a flawless show in these difficult times.” Horizon Technologies looks forward to coming back to IDEX in 2023.
