Magnesium Elektron is the world leader in the development, manufacture and supply of high performance magnesium alloys. Since Magnesium Elektron first produced magnesium in 1936, market led research, technical expertise and a relentless passion to push the metallurgical boundaries of magnesium alloy technology have resulted in our Research Centre successfully developing more alloys than any other company worldwide; alloys that are used extensively for light weighting applications in the aerospace, defence and security industries.
Magnesium has been used for over 50 years in demanding high temperature applications, e.g. jet engines, without any practical flammability issues. Our latest generation of high-strength, wrought and sand-casting alloys, Elektron® 43, Elektron® 21 and Elektron® 675, are inherently flame-resistant, even beyond their melting points and exhibit corrosion resistance comparable with Aluminium.
