Agilent Technologies, formerly Cobalt Light Systems, manufactures a range of products based on Raman spectroscopy. By using novel variants of Raman, Agilent's instruments are able to accurately analyse materials hidden inside objects or through barriers such as coloured plastics, glass, fabric and paper. Agilent's Raman products are used for liquid explosive detection at airport security, by global pharmaceutical manufactures for quality control of raw materials and tablets & capsules, and for handheld through-barrier detection/identification of hazardous materials in Hazmat response.
