ADS is organising an event hosted by the Manufacturing Technology Centre in association with the DRAMA project which aims to attract around 50 supply chain manufacturing and/or cyber security companies. Keynotes will be provided by thought leaders; companies will highlight case studies of successful cyber security implementation; a special panel discussion on cyber issues in additive manufacturing will be held, in association with the DRAMA project.
Manufacturers in all sectors are aware of the benefits of digitalisation and are seeking to adopt these new capabilities to improve their products and processes. The desired outcomes of digitalisation are productivity and competitiveness improvements, but can also create new revenue streams, improved supply chain management, and even new business models. Connectivity underpins so-called Industry 4.0, and with this comes the potential of new cyber threats that could become risks to business.
The event aims to bring together UK experts in cyber security and manufacturing – both end users and capability providers – to discuss the key cyber issues facing connected manufacturing, and highlight advice and good practice that is available. A&D present unique challenges and opportunities - such long product lifecycles legacy manufacturing systems, complex supply chains and higher regulations and standards, and so the event will aim to discuss the topic of cyber through the lens of the A&D industries' requirements.
