Last week the Aircraft Interiors Expo took place in Hamburg. The show is the world’s biggest for aircraft interiors and attracts more than 14,000 visitors, 1,100 airline buyers and over 550 leading aircraft interiors suppliers. Several ADS Member capabilities were showcased and recognised at the show.

For the first time, ADS had a dedicated exhibition space, giving Members the opportunity to build contacts and increase business across this fast-growing market. Participating Members valued this opportunity and have expressed optimism about the leads already generated.

Chris Osborne, Director, Flitetec said:

“It was our first time exhibiting via ADS. AIX provided a unique opportunity for us to chat with our customers in a relaxed and informal setting; as well as finding valuable contacts that we would not normally meet, who are already proving essential in the evolution of our products and our adaptability to the future requirements of the interiors market”

Dave Foley, Chief Financial Officer, Thormac said:

“This was Thormac’s first time participating in an ADS organised stand and we were delighted with the feedback, having met several companies that we will be taking to the next stage of product quotation. Thormac as a consequence of exhibiting on the ADS stand, was able to demonstrate its capability in a range of engineered materials and highlight our wide range of machines. We were delighted to see so many procurement people on the stands and this allowed us to not alone meet the companies but also meet the right people. We are already looking forward to working with ADS in Hamburg in 2018!”

In other news from the show, ADS Member STG Aerospace was announced winner of the ‘Best Cabin Interior Passenger Experience’ Award for its revolutionary square-beam liTeMood® LED Reading Light.

A new seat concept involving Members Magnesium Elektron, IPC Mouldings and Bradfor Ltd, in partnership with London design house Tangerine was also unveiled. Project ‘POISE’ is a collaboration which demonstrates what is possible when companies use their respective skills to work together.
