Whether you’ve always been fascinated by space or Major Tim Peake’s mission to the International Space Station has inspired you – now is your chance to participate in an exciting model rocket competition.

We are calling for schools and youth groups from around the country to enter the UK Youth Aerospace Rocketry Challenge.

The Challenge is the UK’s largest model rocket competition and the UK winners will secure a place at the international final at the Farnborough International Airshow in the summer.

You can put your design and engineering skills to the test by building a motor-powered rocket. In teams of up to ten you need to design and build your rocket to take off and land without breaking its precious cargo (two raw eggs)!

The Challenge is open to any school or extra-curricular team aged 11-18. The rocket needs to reach an altitude close to 850 feet and remain airborne for a minimum of 44 seconds.

If this sounds like a mission you or someone you know would like to be part of please visit the website or contact Megan.Miller@adsgroup.org.uk.

The deadline to submit applications to enter the Regional Finals is Friday 11 March 2016.
