This week is Exporting is GREAT Week – and today we’ve had some great news for the UK’s Aerospace industry.

Indonesia’s national airline, Garuda Indonesia, has agreed a deal for a fleet of 14 state-of-the-art A330neo aircraft – worth almost £1 billion to the UK economy. The deal was signed at Downing Street earlier today as part of a two-day visit to the UK by Indonesian President Jokowi.

The Airbus aircraft – with wings designed and manufactured in the UK at Airbus’ facilities in Filton, near Bristol, and Broughton, in North Wales – will be powered by Rolls-Royce engines. Rolls-Royce has also signed an agreement for the aftercare of the engines.

This deal is a great boost for UK exports and UK jobs both at Airbus and Rolls-Royce and throughout the supply chain across the UK.
