Aerospace Regulatory Manager

ADS represents and supports over 1000 UK businesses operating in the aerospace, defence, security and space sectors. Whether representing industry or driving forward innovating and growth, ADS is at the forefront of these activities. Our membership ranges from SMEs to global primes.

The Role

The role involves leading the ADS aerospace (including Defence aerospace) activity in the two Regulated areas; Environment and Sustainability, and Safety (ESS). This includes engaging with a wide range of stakeholders from industry and government, both in the UK, EU and abroad, to:

  • Shape and influence emerging policies, regulations and standards that impact UK Aerospace, based on inputs from ADS members
  • Understand the policy, regulatory and standards landscapes, and appropriately communicate their impact and implication to ADS members
  • Prioritise the wide ranging national, European and international activities to ensure ADS activity is focussed on ADS member benefit, and resourced accordingly
  • Develop suitable objectives and metrics across all Regulatory activities, to enable success to be measured

The Candidate

This is a new role, which brings together two areas of Aerospace that are vital to the UK industry’s future success. It provides a fantastic opportunity at the heart of the Industry, to establish a role that has purpose and impact.
The incumbent will become a focal point for ESS across the Industry. Key to success will be understanding the complexities of the two regulated areas, managing stakeholders to bring forward consensus views, and prioritising activity to maximise the benefit brought to ADS members and UK Aerospace at large.
