Everything that A|D|S does is driven by understanding the issues, opportunities and priorities of the four sectors which A|D|S represents – Civil Aviation, Defence, Security and Space. It is working with members and gaining this understanding that allows A|D|S to develop and deliver the services that provide real value. A|D|S encourages its members to be actively engaged with its work. It is only through constant interchange that A|D|S can be truly representative, and it is structured to foster this interchange, both through sector specific boards and through a variety of cross cutting boards and special interest groups.

No matter what their scale of business, it is essential that it is the membership that determines what A|D|S is and what it does.

Who can be a member?

A|D|S welcomes the involvement of all businesses and organisations that are making a contribution to the UK economy across the following sectors:

• Civil Aviation
• Defence
• Security
• Space

A|D|S requires a diverse and inclusive membership to meet its core objectives. It encourages a mix of small and large businesses operating at all levels in the supply network, including manufacturers, manufacturing suppliers, equipment providers, service companies and operators. It is keen to support start-ups and new entrants as well as seeking stronger relationships between industry and professional services, research organisations and Government agencies that support our industries.

The categories of membership are:

• A|D|S member Open to any organisation which is registered in the UK with interests in AeroSpace (civil aviation and space), Defence and Security and which is creating employment for people who are domiciled in the UK.
• BAG* member Open to any organisation which is registered in the UK with an interest in the airports sector and which is creating employment for people in the UK. For further details visit the BAG website.
• UKspace* member Full membership of UKspace is open to all A|D|S members. For further details visit the UKspace website.
• Regional partnership Open to any regional trade association acting as a focal point for industry issues in the regional and devolved administrations with interests in AeroSpace (civil aviation and space), Defence and Security and which are committed to work as equal partners with A|D|S.
• Affiliate member Open to any organisation whose achievements, aims and objectives support the aims of A|D|S or BAG.
• Honorary member Open to any person, who, in the opinion of Council has rendered both exceptional service to the industries represented by A|D|S or who is eminent in the sector.

How to join

The process to join A|D|S is easy. One of our membership services team would be pleased to speak with you and explain more about what A|D|S does and how your company could best benefit and contribute to its work.

We will need information about your business in the UK and an assessment of your relevant turnover** so that your application can be reviewed and your annual membership fee determined.

A|D|S will promote new member companies though its website and add its details to the member directory. During the first two months of membership A|D|S will contact the member company to best identify how best to participate. A|D|S aims to engage with all members at least once a year to ensure they are getting value for money.
